There are designers out there creating great sustainable fashion and accessories that have absolutely nothing to envy conventional luxury fashion brands. Today we will start a series to will show you some of them. Some of these designers are already working with us at Wabi sabi Ecofashionconcept. If you like something you see here and want to know where to find it please contact us.
I hope you like this new section of the blog.
The first entry will be dedicated to a sustainable fashion company based in New York, SUNO.
We got to know them because they were also winners at the Source Awards 2012. They competed in the category DESIGN LEADER(Recognising commitment to sustainability by leading, mainstream and high profile fashion designers), and took first place leaving 2nd place for the great Vivienne Westwood.
Using vintage Kenyan textiles they created their first collection produced predominantly in Kenya. SUNO has evolved its business to include production in Kenya, India, Peru and its home base of New York. Via a combination of traditional, local techniques and high-end tailoring, as well as an emphasis on fit and fabric, they offer a global, unique view of the luxury world in an accessible way.
Their products are available at more than 60 retailers worldwide, including Opening Ceremony, Ikram, The Webster, Colette, and Harvey Nichols.
